A Web Smart Space Framework for Intelligent Search Engines

    Get PDF
A web smart space is an intelligent environment which has additional capability of searching the information smartly and efficiently. New advancements like dynamic web contents generation has increased the size of web repositories. Among so many modern software analysis requirements, one is to search information from the given repository. But useful information extraction is a troublesome hitch due to the multi-lingual; base of the web data collection. The issue of semantic based information searching has become a standoff due to the inconsistencies and variations in the characteristics of the data. In the accomplished research, a web smart space framework has been proposed which introduces front end processing for a search engine to make the information retrieval process more intelligent and accurate. In orthodox searching anatomies, searching is performed only by using pattern matching technique and consequently a large number of irrelevant results are generated. The projected framework has insightful ability to improve this drawback and returns efficient outcomes. Designed framework gets text input from the user in the form complete question, understands the input and generates the meanings. Search engine searches on the basis of the information provided

Corporate motivation for integrated management system implementation : why do firms engage in integration of management systems: a literature review & research agenda\ud

    Get PDF
Integration of management systems such as for quality, environment, occupational health and safety, risk management, and corporate social responsibilities is a viable organisational approach to cost reduction, efficient utilization of resources, greater motivation of employees, and better compliance to social obligations and stakeholders‘ requirements. Identification of drivers for corporate motivation for IMS decision making and its implementation is a matter of interest for academicians, practitioners, industry, and government regulatory agencies; paradoxically literature on this subject is pretty thin. This paper describes the literature review and research agenda for the exploration of drivers of IMS implementation and factors influencing IMS implementation. The exploratory research is meant to be executed by an inductive approach through case studies in Pakistani manufacturing firms

Toward Depth Estimation Using Mask-Based Lensless Cameras

Recently, coded masks have been used to demonstrate a thin form-factor lensless camera, FlatCam, in which a mask is placed immediately on top of a bare image sensor. In this paper, we present an imaging model and algorithm to jointly estimate depth and intensity information in the scene from a single or multiple FlatCams. We use a light field representation to model the mapping of 3D scene onto the sensor in which light rays from different depths yield different modulation patterns. We present a greedy depth pursuit algorithm to search the 3D volume and estimate the depth and intensity of each pixel within the camera field-of-view. We present simulation results to analyze the performance of our proposed model and algorithm with different FlatCam settings

High precision motion control of parallel robots with imperfections and manufacturing tolerances

    Get PDF
This work attempts to achieve precise motion control using parallel robots with manufacturing tolerances and inaccuracies by migrating the measurements from their joint space to task space in order to decrease control system’s sensitivity to any kinematical uncertainty rather than calibrating the parallel plant. The problem of dynamical model uncertainties and its effect on the derivation of the control law is also addressed in this work through disturbance estimation and compensation. Eventually, both task space measurement and disturbance estimation are combined to formulate a control framework that is unsensitive to either kinematical and dynamical system uncertainties

Precise motion descriptors extraction from stereoscopic footage using DaVinci DM6446

    Get PDF
A novel approach to extract target motion descriptors in multi-camera video surveillance systems is presented. Using two static surveillance cameras with partially overlapped field of view (FOV), control points (unique points from each camera) are identified in regions of interest (ROI) from both cameras footage. The control points within the ROI are matched for correspondence and a meshed Euclidean distance based signature is computed. A depth map is estimated using disparity of each control pair and the ROI is graded into number of regions with the help of relative depth information of the control points. The graded regions of different depths will help calculate accurately the pace of the moving target and also its 3D location. The advantage of estimating a depth map for background static control points over depth map of the target itself is its accuracy and robustness to outliers. The performance of the algorithm is evaluated in the paper using several test sequences. Implementation issues of the algorithm onto the TI DaVinci DM6446 platform are considered in the paper

Sensorless torque estimation in multidegree-of-freedom flexible systems

    Get PDF
This paper presents a sensorless torque estimation algorithm for multidegree-of-freedom flexible systems. The proposed algorithm makes it possible to estimate externally applied torques due to flexible system s interaction with the environment without taking any measurement from the system. The algorithm is based on modifying the disturbance observer in order to decouple the reflected torque waves out of the total disturbance on the actuator. Then Reflected torque waves are used along with the actuator s current and velocity to estimate flexible system parameters, dynamics and the external torques or disturbances. Several experimental results are included in order to confirm the validity of the proposed torque estimation algorithm
